Isfahan Regional Centre for Technology Incubators and Science Parks Development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO, the Isfahan Science & Technology Town (ISTT) and Malaysian Industrial-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) organized a training workshop on "Science & Technology Parks Management (Global Thinking)" in 8th to 9th November 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The two-day joint training workshop was aimed at promoting and strengthening the international network of high-tech clusters, thus preparing the ground for development of technology incubators and science parks in the region and to facilitate the international relations among science parks and incubators with their counterparts in the region.

Throughout the workshop participants learnt about the key success factors in Science and Technology Parks (STPs) Management and the global thinking in STPs. Among others, they also learnt how to internationalize their STPs and their tenant companies.

During the training workshop, Dr.Mahmoud Sheikh-Zeinoddin, President of ISTT and also the Director of IRIS and Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, President and CEO of MIGHT signed an MOU aimed to increase their collaboration.

The MOU intent is to foster international partnership in technology transferring, facilitate investments on cooperative technology and know-how development and encourage partnership between parties by means of technology transfer and exchange.

The event officiated by H.E. Dr. Mahdinejad Nouri, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology.

Participants from different countries in the Asian region such as Thailand, Turkey, Syria and Malaysia listened to talks from Dr. Herbert Chen, Senior-Vice President of Tuspark and Director of IASP Beijing Office, Dr. David Fuller, Director of Innovation Campus in University of Wollongong, Australia and Dr. Mahmoud Sheikh-Zeinoddin, President of ISTT.
